Dr. Erica Sok attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a major in Biology. She went on to pursue her dental education at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where she was selected as a member of the dental honor society Sigma Omicron Upsilon, the highest honor for a graduating dental student. Dr. Sok graduated top of her class. While at VCU School of Dentistry, she was selected as a prosthodontic teacher’s assistant and was awarded the Lewis H. Zeno Memorial Award for her excellence in prosthodontics. She also served on the Student Honors Committee and the Dental Admissions Committee.
Dr. Sok is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). The Fellowship Award symbolizes excellence in the dental profession and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. She is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP) and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP). Dr. Sok is an Advanced Lightwire Functional Appliance (ALF) provider. The ALF is a non-traditional orthodontic treatment which uses the principles of cranial osteopathy to expand the jaw and promotes favorable physiological changes to the patient’s posture, occlusion, TMJ health, airway, and nervous system. Dr. Sok continues to commit numerous hours of continuing education in TMD, airway, sleep and orthodontics to help her patients achieve a healthy functional bite, TMJ, and overall health.
Dr. Sok met her husband, Dr. Long Pham, at Virginia Tech. They both went on to pursue dentistry together at VCU Dental School. Dr. Sok loves spending time outdoors and with her husband and their three children. She likes to travel to different places and enjoys good food. She also likes snowboarding and, recently, pickleball.
